TODAY, KC Annual Traeger BBQ Chicken Dinner

Thank you for your continued support of our School. The St. Luke’s Knights of Columbus have scheduled their Annual Chicken Dinner for Sunday, September 28th from 3-7 pm in Rubis Hall. This is a Sit-Down or Take-Out Dinner. Cost: $8.50 for adults and $5.00 for children 6 and under. Menu includes, 1/2 chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, drink and dessert. Entertainment will be provided by Pete. All are welcome to come eat and have a good time.

 

Inquiry Sessions

We will begin our “Inquiry Sessions” for any non-Catholic interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. These informal, no obligation gatherings are a chance to get to know you and help you feel comfortable in our parish community and let you know about the process for learning more about Catholicism. This process is called RCIA, Rite of Christian Initiation. If you are interested in the process please call the parish office at 503-981- 5011.

 

Spiritual Opportunities.

     1. St. Luke Productions with widely acclaimed actor Leonardo Defilippis present THE GOSPEL OF ST. JOHN. Today, Sun. Sept. 28th, 5pm at Sacred Heart in Gervais. No charge, free will offering will be taken.

     2. 2nd Annual Rosary Bowl NW, Saturday, October 4th, Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer. Program begins at 11 am with gates opening at 9:30 am. See insert.

 

GRAND OPENING!

North Marion Adult Center is open for business and will have it´s Grand Opening on Friday, October 3rd from 2-5 pm. There will be pizza, music and lots of visiting about programs for senior citizens over 50. The Center is located in the Presbyterian Church Building on 214 and Boones Ferry Rd. for more info call Bev 503- 982-4531

 

News from St. Luke School

     1. The 6th grade students will be having a Car Wash on Sunday, October 13th at Les Schwab Tire Center on the corner of 99E and Hardcastle, from 9 am to 3 pm. Come support the students who are raising funds to pay for Outdoor School.

     2. The school is having it´s Annual Magazine Subscription Sale. If you would like to renew your Magazine Subscription please stop by the school and pick up an order form, 40% of each magazine subscription sold will be donated to the School. Right to Life Chain Sunday NEXT SUNDAY.

The Annual Salem Life Chain Sunday is scheduled for NEXT Sunday, October 5th, from 2:30-3:30 pm on Lancaster Drive in Salem. What is LIFE CHAIN? Life Chain is families and churches uniting to speak up for the unborn children. Mark your calendar and plan to take a stand for life. Life chain signs will be available that day at Academy Square. Religious Education

The Religious Education Program for grades K-5th will begin this Wednesday, October 1st. We will kick off the year with a Mass for all the Religious Ed. students and their families. Mass will be at 6:30 pm followed by a social in Rubis Hall. All those who registered for these classes are required to attend. THANK YOU!

To all those who helped with donations for Mr. Domingo Miguel to return to Guatemala. Mr. Miguel left to spend his last days with his family. Please pray for him and his family may they find comfort in God´s love. Please keep in your prayers those of our parish who are ill and/or recuperating. And for all those who have gone before us.

Today we will be joining youth from other area churches for Mass, Dinner and a Concert at St. Edward´s in Keizer. For those of you who signed up, please meet at St. Luke´s at 5 pm. Don´t forget your permission slip and your donation of at least 1 piece of clean clothing to donate to St. Vincent de Paul.
